Raised by wolves somewhere in northwestern Michigan, Dean walked to the Traverse City area where he was adopted by a loving family that happen to be his biological parents. He was the king of an underground bare-knuckle boxing league in elementary school until being kidnapped by pirates at the age of 7. After sailing the high seas, he defeated the pirate lords and returned to Northern Michigan for a normal childhood.

 

Dean graduated from Hillsdale College in 2006 and joined Christ Church Cranbrook with his wife in early 2007. He has been a volunteer at ACCESS since his arrival and took over as program leader in the spring of 2008.
